" Would you believe me if I told you these beautiful portraits by New York-based Yigal Ozeri were paintings, not photographs?
The first step in Ozeri's process is to shoot photographs of random people in their natural environment. Once he's back in the studio, he uses Photoshop to alter the shots, before he prints them up to use as a guide. He then paints with oil on large canvas to complete his masterpieces.
Collected here were pieces shown at the Mike Weiss Gallery in New York. The exhibit, titled "Desire for Anima," is a tribute to Carl Jung’s concept of the unconscious, or the true inner-self of an individual. "
